I'm at my apartment, trying to be involved the West Side Young Adults party here, but also wanting to blog - especially as the TV is showing the Times Square celebration, in the City this blog is focused upon!
Stay tuned for possible updates... (Or maybe not.)

A Virtual Return to NYC: Day-by-Day trip tracking, two years later
A (Virtual) Return to NYC
Day-by-Day Trip Tracking, two years later
In order to break this blog-jam (it's now been two years, since my famous trip - and I still haven't gotten my recaps and commentary and other neat stuff posted), I am going to attempt to do a day-by-day tracking of my 2013 exploits in NYC. I will try to match the dates - it was on September 10th I think, that the trip began.
This won't just be coverage of my trip - but also of the exciting issues, experiences, and interesting things involved with those events and sites. The George Zimmerman / Travyon Martin case will be covered, in connection with the Edmund Perry case. Broadway will be covered here, as well as a certain church in Harlem that opposes President Obama.
Stay tuned...

The Kelly File: Crime in NYC is up
Right now on The Kelly File on Fox News, they're covering the rise in crime in NYC. As I'd noted while on my NYC trip, Rudy Giuliani did an excellent job of cleaning up The Big Apple.
Crime is apparently back up now. Just this past weekend, there were 19 people shot in New York City.
Perhaps the recent anger against police officers for allegedly wrong incidents has caused the police to be less aggressive.
If this NYC trip were to take place today, I don't know if I'd been able to spend that much time in the City.

Happy Birthday, USA!!
My blogging is way behind, and lacking in the quality I could provide.
I should have an entry below, about my recent birthday (it may be published later). This post will be about a much more important birthday.

David Letterman and New York, New York
It was just the other day that I learned that tonight is the last episode of the Late Show with David Letterman. Considering the subject of this blog, I thought I should definitely post about this.
It was David Letterman who famously called NYC the City so nice, they named it twice!
I remember, after 9/11, David Letterman rightly announcing that it was the greatest city in the world.

On my trip to New York, I was glad to be at an episode of Dr. Oz, and we were also there for an episode of America's Got Talent. But we didn't get into an episode of the Late Show.

Corey Cott Interview Clip: On being a Christian actor on Broadway
If you haven't already, please check out my prior post, on an inspiring young man I found out about, during my trip to New York City.
That prior blog post contained a church interview with Broadway actor Corey Cott; I hope you check it out. Below is a clip from a more recent interview of Corey. In this excerpt, from Show People with Paul Wontorek, Corey describes being a Christian actor on Broadway:
Please see the prior post below, and check out the video there.

A Star for Christ on Broadway
Corey Cott
A rising star on Broadway, and a light for Christ Jesus
This weblog was intended to be a review of my trip to New York City, with commentary about Big Apple related issues, and interesting things that
arose on my 20-day trip. Like my other "new" blog, this one has been
stalled; progress on these blogs was already lacking (despite some good
motivation I'd received from Kara Lindsay and from the Newsies gang!),
before health problems arose sharply, last July.
I
still hope to jump start this blog, and post interesting content
related to my NYC trip. Right now however, I want to share something
special that I found, while on Broadway!
Forget about me
I participate each year in the Shorty Awards, seeking nominations for myself, in a few categories. The Shorties are awards given in many categories to people who use Social Media. (I've gotten upset at some people, who I've done a lot for, but who were less than helpful during the Shorty Awards.)
This
year however, I chose not to focus on myself, but sought nominations for someone else - an amazing young man who I'd found out about, when in
New York.
One
thing I wanted to do while in the Big Apple was see a Broadway show; I
saw that Newsies was one of the shows, and thought it would be a good
one to attend.
I remember doing a quick
Newsies-related search, on my iPhone while riding on the subway, and
learning that Jeremy Jordan was the star of the show. I was surprised
therefore when I got my Playbill (I'd gotten a discount ticket, from the
Newsies lottery), and saw that the lead actor was one Corey Cott - and
Corey's bio actually had a Bible verse in it!
It's
great that we have a man of Christ in a prominent role. (Newsies has ended
its Broadway run, but Corey is currently starring in another Broadway play, and also has television credits.)
One thing I found very inspiring is this church interview with Corey Cott, by Pastor Doug Melder of North Way Christian Community.
I am glad that Corey & Doug are continualists - In the interview, Corey describes getting his prayer language.
Corey is going to go far. Pray that God will continue to use him mightily, to further the Kingdom, on Broadway, in the Big Apple, and beyond!
